We are a non-profit Italian-American organization. Our purpose is to unite the Italian community and it's friends for the enjoyment and the promotion of Italian culture and language. We do this with active participation in the Italian-American community in Westchester, NY, which our organization has been a part of over 70 years! The Calabria Society, an Italian-American organization in Westchester County, along with other Italian-American organizations throughout New York, is not insensitive to the cries of pain and necessity that echo from the city of Aquila, Abruzzi (Italy) as a result of the recent earthquake that has devastated the entire region. President Domenico Procopio, profoundly believes that this tragic earthquake morally obligates all Italian-Americans to exert their maximum effort with the highest sense of responsibility to express their solidarity towards those who have been afflicted by this tragedy. “In this moment of extreme urgency every aid is indispensable” says President Procopio. The Calabria Society wishes to express this solidarity by raising funds to help those individuals who have suffered the tragic consequences of this calamity. This is a moment to show our support during these trying times for our Italian brothers from Aquila, as the rest of the Italian Peninsula is doing right now.
